Markup Language

A markup language is a system for formatting and arranging the elements in a document using tags. These tags are used to define the structure and presentation of the document, making it easier for both humans and computer programs to understand and process the content.

Key Principles

Markup languages are distinct from programming and scripting languages. While programming languages involve logic and algorithms to instruct a computer on what tasks to perform, and scripting languages are used to control other programs, markup languages are primarily concerned with the presentation and structure of data. They do not include any logic or algorithms.
